Pusha T at Pitchfork

IMG_3755After forcing the large and anxious crowd gathered at the green stage to wait more than 30 minutes (due to his DJ running late), Pusha T finally hit the stage and ignited what would be the most electric set of the day so far. The “King Push” MC rattled off frenzied versions of hits off of his acclaimed record My Name Is My Name, as well as cuts from G.O.O.D. Music and Kanye’s My Dark Twisted Fantasy. The crowd was quick to forgive Pusha for the wait, and soon they were jumping with excitement and screaming “Millions in the ceiling millio-millions in the ceiling!” I stayed in the thick of things as long as I could, surrounded by people a decade younger than me who made statements like “Fuck Kendrick Lamar!” and “Yo if it weren’t for Kanye, Pusha wouldn’t be shit.” The speaker of the latter words almost fell over with excitement when “Numbers On The Boards” came up. So glad I waited it out. Pusha was exactly the shot in the arm this Fest needed today.
