Mutual Benefit at Pitchfork

20140720-133704-49024214.jpgThe music Jordan Lee creates is a lot like being pleasantly awakened from a beautiful dream, so Mutual Benefit was a smart kickoff to Day 3 of Pitchfork. He seemed in good spirits, cracking a couple jokes like “Thank you for getting here early, we’re Neutral Milk Hotel.” and “Those were our best two songs, so if you wanna go see Speedy Ortiz they’re really great.”

The band played some songs from the great 2014 album Love’s Crushing Diamond and the crowd really ate it up, swaying to and fro like flowers following the sunlight in Lee’s voice.

If you haven’t checked out their album, I highly suggest doing so. Especially if you like stuff like Patrick Watson, Bon Iver, etc.
