Sneakout-Letting Go (Mixtape)

I’ve been spending some time this morning with Sneakout‘s new mixtape Letting Go, and I’ve found it quite enjoyable. Formerly known as Victory, Robert Fleming’s latest project is very much of, and about, the now. It sparks off thoughts of MGMT or Foster The People if they made music I could tolerate for more than one song. This collection of songs he just released is made up from a couple new ones, a cover of a Lana Del Rey song, and some acoustic versions of Victory songs. I dig ’em all more than I thought I would. The acoustic take on “Play It” is especially fun and highlights Fleming’s vocals more than the other tracks.

You can find the whole thing streaming below. He’s just got one show on deck right now, a free gig in Los Angeles, September 22nd at the Bootleg Theater
