Dick Diver-“Tearing The Posters Down”

FEATURE-Dick-Diver-2

Every time I think about this band I feel the need to say their name with the same inflection Jack White gives when he says “Screwdriver” in that song off The White Stripes self-titled album. Dick Diver doesn’t have much in common with the bluesy riffs White loves, though. Instead, this Melbourne foursome goes for dreamy pop and early R.E.M.-style college rock. The latter is a pretty good description of their newest single “Tearing The Posters Down.” The long opening progression makes me think of “(Don’t Go Back To) Rockville,” before it snaps into something new with the band’s harmonized vocals.

This is the second song released off Dick Diver’s upcoming Trouble In Mind release Melbourne, Florida due out March 10th.
