When Donnie Biggins isn’t rocking out with his group The Shams Band, live-tweeting episodes of House Hunters, or teaching his kids about The Beatles, he’s booking shows. And not shows like, here’s a good band once every couple months and everything is whatever. No, consistently awesome shows that force you to show up early and stay late so you don’t miss any amazing music. Under the Harmonica Dunn moniker, Donnie has brought in acts that I may have never heard of otherwise and now they’re some of my favorites.

I’ve said before that I think Dunn Dunn Fest is one of the most important and best festivals in Chicago. While it can’t stack up financially with Lollapalooza or Pitchfork, the quality rate is much higher. With over forty bands playing this year, I’m willing to bet there’s more than a few you’ll want to check out.

Headliners in this first wave of names include Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band w/ Alanna Royale, Tom Hamilton’s American Babies, Ben Miller Band, Low Cut Connie, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Frontier Ruckus, Devil In A Woodpile, Charlie Parr, and Humming House. More will be announced in the coming months.

Over the course of the three-day festival, bands will perform at Lincoln Hall, Subterranean, Beat Kitchen, Schubas, The Hideout, and Tonic Room. So no matter where you are in the city, you should have no problem getting to a show.

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at www.dunndunnfest.com. Also stay tuned to that site for more updates. You can also follow Dunn Dunn Fest on Twitter.
