Taste Of Randolph 2016 Preview

When I got the email detailing the lineup for this year’s Taste Of Randolph festival, I was pretty impressed. Then I took a second look, beyond the headliners, and saw that Patrick Watson was there as well. Oh my! Now we’re talking about another Taste Of Randolph music lineup with wide appeal that I can fully get behind.

The opening day of street festivals is usually a little less exciting than the Saturday/Sunday lineup because people work on Friday and are less likely to come out. However, TOR has Atlas Genius and Judah & The Lion, giving you more than enough reason to head over to restaurant row and grab some dinner from one of the amazing stands lining Randolph Street. May I suggest De Cero, where I had the most delicious carne asada taco I’ve ever eaten?

Saturday is a bit on the light side-not in quality but in style. DeVotchka and MS MR will keep you dancing after you rock out with Save The Clocktower.

Sunday is pretty much packed from beginning to end. Try to remember to hit the ATM before you show up to avoid those convenience charges, because you’re gonna want to stay from lunch through dinner and dessert to catch all the great music. Local bands like Bailiff, The Ivory’s, and Akasha start the day. The aforementioned Patrick Watson will play a suppertime set you can enjoy while you eat some food (seriously, check out those tacos).

And then you get to enjoy dessert with the Chicago return of Peter Bjorn & John!
