Nothing But Thieves played the loudest show at Schubas I’ve ever witnessed. My ears are still ringing from the guitars rattling through my eardrums. And when the band wasn’t shattering my cochleas, the fans in the crowd were screaming like they were on fire. For a band with only one full-length record, I was shocked at the zealous nature of the audience. I knew NBT less than Drowners, and honestly if it were up to me I would have flip-flopped the evening and let Drowners headline. Not to say NBT isn’t good-they’re very talented musicians. It just felt like Drowners kept it a bit lighter and breezy.
