I spent a lot more time at the blue stage than I thought I would, but the programming over there was just too good not to go. Mitski delivered one of the best performances of the weekend, which was impressive since she had to follow a brilliant opening set by Cherry Glazerr. The songs from Puberty 2 and bury me at makeout creek sounded great, and she played some new stuff that’s very promising. The crowd was singing along loudly to a lot of the music, but I didn’t mind-those tunes are so well-written a person who is tone deaf could sing them and sound good.
