The Summer Concert Series at Millennium Park came to a close last night, with a final performance by Wild Belle. The Chicago natives made sure the season went out with a bang, as they had one of the largest crowds, featuring a large number of people that wanted to get up front and dance. I caught the band last year at Mamby On The Beach, but I stayed way back and didn’t get to stay for their whole set.
They played some tunes from last year’s Dreamland, plus some new and old stuff. Their brand of reggae/funk and pop was a great mix for a hot, humid night by the lake. They did a little over an hour, including a great version of their song “Throw Down Your Guns” that was preceded by Natalie Bergman asking “What the fuck is wrong with our President?” “Our Love Will Survive” also seemed to be a crowd favorite.
