I don’t get up to JBTV as often as I’d like. They tape downtown in Chicago, which is great for me, but usually early in the afternoon on weekdays. If I happen to be off that day, I try to go. I’ve talked to others who just swing by on their lunch break. It really is a great way to break up the workday if that’s an option.
I’ve seen a bunch of great sets over the last few years-Cage The Elephant, K Flay, Stars, and Arkells come to mind right away. For every one I make there are ten or more that I miss, and a few weeks ago Jerry Bryant brought in Razorhouse, a Chicago institution in their own regard.
I wrote about their latest record, Codex Tres Lingua, which you can read here. Mark Panick brought his 30 plus years of experience to the stage and rocked the intimate crowd with his industrial folk style.
