Troye Sivan’s Bloom tour came to Chicago last night, but the spotlight was brightest for opened Kim Petras. Hot off the release of a new EP, the crowd reaction when Petras took the stage felt like the second coming of the Beatles.
Despite being a seated event, the crowd filled the aisles and pushed forward as far as they could to get close to the soon-to-be pop superstar. She gave the audience exactly what they wanted, blasting dance beats and serving face for all the cameraphone wielding fans. The 8-song set stuck mainly to the hottest singles, but she did play “Close Your Eyes” and “Tell Me It’s A Nightmare” from the darker Turn Off The Light, Vol 1.
