Indigo de Souza-Younger & Dumber

Any time we get new music from Indigo de Souza, it’s a reason to celebrate. Today we get news of new album, a new single with video, and a slew of shows including 5/18 here in Chicago at Thalia Hall. Having seen her live a couple of times, I can guarantee you won’t want to miss this tour.

“Younger & Dumber” leads the campaign for All Of This Will End, due out at the end of April. It’s a raw, vulnerable piece-as much of her work is. de Souza never shies away from the tough, sometimes crushing pressure of the world. Here she sings about escaping when you no longer feel you belong.

The video, a mix of old home movies and performance art, features the singer/songwriter’s balletic take on man’s destructive nature. As usual, de Souza wrings out every emotional moment for all their worth and delivers an audio/visual experience that feels like a million fists to the stomach.

Since seeing de Souza live back in January 2020 (ah, the pre-pandemic Golden Age) I’ve been impressed with everything she has done as an artist. I’m so happy to share this video with you and can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!

If you want to pre-order, as I surely will, you can do so here. I’m partial to the Burning Saturn vinyl myself. If it’s tour dates you’re after, look no further than this link.
