As the sun began to fade on Friday at Summerfest in Milwaukee, I had the opportunity to photograph the set by Shaed on the Briggs & Stratton Stage. Up until now I had missed every chance to see them in Chicago for one reason or another. I’m glad I finally got to remedy that, because they play a style I like and they do it very well. They’ll be back in Chicago for Lollapalooza and an aftershow with Bishop Briggs which, somehow, still has some tickets available.

The band quickly followed up their 2018 album Melt with a series of remixes for “Trampoline” and the single release ISOU/Thunder. They did those two back to back mid-set, sandwiched between a cover of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and the big-time summer vibes of “You Got Me Like.”
