February 14th 2013 Playlist

It’s funny how different people interpret a holiday like Valentine’s Day. For some, it’s the best day of the year, and if it isn’t celebrated by everyone around them with the utmost enthusiasm their whole day is ruined. I’m sure a lot of guys out there think of it as a hassle that they have to pick out a gift for their significant other (and it isn’t even her birthday/Christmas!). For others it’s a harsh reminder of how lonely they are, watching hours of television with ads for diamonds and flowers, chocolates and stuffed animals. They could try to find some relief on the radio, but Delilah is playing “I Will Always Love You” for the 18th time in a row. I’m fairly indifferent to it myself, I’ve always had to work on the day of, so even if we did celebrate it, we wouldn’t do it on February 14th.

Last year I threw together a short list of some love songs for people who don’t generally care for mainstream pop music. This year I wanted to do it a little different. I still avoided mainstream pop, but I added some songs in there for those people who aren’t celebrating Valentine’s Day and kinda wish the people that were would jump off a cliff. You’ll have to keep your ears open, though. All the songs sound like they’re very romantic.

It’s a Spotify playlist, so if you don’t have the program, go pick it up. It’s free (with ads).
