The internet can be a place of wonders, sometimes. I was just looking into a video by an artist and when it ended I saw “Favourite Lover” as a recommended click. A slave to click-bait like everyone else, I obeyed and was blown away. Danish singer-songwriter eee gee’s debut single is a banger and the clip they made to go along with it is stunning.

Directed by Roberta Hilarius Reichardt and based on an idea which they collaborated on, it is a four-minute feast for the eyes and ears. Mystery, psychological horror, big dance numbers-this thing has got it all. It’s like Darren Aronofsky dreamt up a remake of Caberet. It’s a great vibe and it is all executed brilliantly by all in front of and behind the camera.

This is the first time I’ve heard of eee gee (real name Emma Grangvist), and I can’t wait to find out what’s coming next.
